BILL CALLAHAN, Senior Public Relations Manager in the Corporate
Communications department at National Semiconductor Corporation, is a
veteran of more than three decades in business and technical public
relations. His primary responsibilities are financial reporting,
executive speech writing and corporate press relations. Mr. Callahan has
been associated with National Semiconductor since 1983, in product
publicity and corporate public relations, interrupted by a three-year
sojourn when he operated his own technical PR business from 1989-1991,
before rejoining National. He started his career as a Reporter,
Photographer and Assistant City Editor at Midwest dailies in Decatur,
Illinois, and South Bend, Indiana, switching over to the public
relations side when he joined Corning Glass Works as a Writer and
Product Publicity Manager in 1963. Prior to National he also served as a
Public Relations Manager for PPG Industries, Fairchild Semiconductor and
Plansky PR. Mr. Callahan attended Fordham University, Columbia
University and earned a BA in Journalism from Michigan State University,
