BARBARA-ANN TWEEDIE, is Chief Executive of Tamaris plc. Ms. Tweedie was born and educated in Ireland; reads modern languages (French and Spanish) at Trinity College, Dublin; studied French at the Sorbonne in Paris. Career Brief: 1973- Research and Project Assistant with Business Consultants specialising in telecommunications and scientific instruments; 1975- Ten years in bloodstock industry. Part of a small management team which gre Irish Bloodstock Auctioneers, Robert J. Goff & Co., from a small national firm, to being the fourth largest in the world, only behind two American companies and Tattersalls in England; 1986-For two years ran own business as Management Consultant in the City, specialising in dealing room consultancy and company relocations; 1988-Set up 30 bed nursing home in West Country; 1990-Invited to join Tamaris as Operations Director, company then had 3 nursing homes; 1991- Became Managing Director; 1996-Appointed Chief Executive, Group now operates 108 homes.
