ARTHUR L. GOLDSTEIN is Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief
Executive Officer of Ionics, Incorporated and has been its President for
27 years. Ionics is a leading international New York Stock Exchange
listed corporation which has been a pioneer in the purification,
desalination, treatment and supply of water and other liquids. Mr.
Goldstein is a Director of State Street Corporation, Cabot Corporation,
and Jobs for Massachusetts, Inc. He is a Trustee of California Institute
of Technology, Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, Inc., and
Dana-Farber/Partners Cancer Care. He is a member of the National Academy
of Engineering and its Industry Advisory Board and a member of the
Visiting Committee of the Harvard School of Public Health. He is co-
Chair of the Committee on Industrial Relations and Ventures of Partners
HealthCare System, Inc. He serves on the Executive Committee of CEOs for
Fundamental Change in Education, and the Inner-City Scholarship Fund.
Mr. Goldstein is a Director and former Chairman of the Massachusetts
High Technology Council. He is a former member of the Visiting Committee
at the Harvard Business School and is a past President of the Rensselaer
Council. Mr. Goldstein is the holder of nine U.S. patents in areas
relating to the purification and processing of liquids. Mr. Goldstein
received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Master's degree in Chemical
Engineering from the University of Delaware, and a Master's degree in
Business Administration from Harvard University. Profile

because we just celebrated our 50th anniversary as a company.
