Arthur Kontos was born in Lamia, Greece. In 1954 he moved to the United
States. He joined the army in 1964 and served his country for two years.
After serving, he landed his first Wall Street job at Carter Walker as
an order clerk. Mr. Kontos attended the Executive program (Temp) at the
University of Virginia. In 1978 he became President/CEO of Troster
Singer. He served in that position for 18 years. At the same time he was
also a General Partner at Spear Leeds and Kellogg. In October 1988 he
became the President/CEO of National Discount Brokers Group, Inc., a
position he currently holds. Profile
