ANGELO R. MOZILO, who co-founded Countrywide Credit Industries, Inc. in
1969, is chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He also serves as
Chairman of Countrywide Home Loans, Inc., the company's main subsidiary,
and is Vice Chairman and President of Independent Mortgage Holdings
Inc., a real estate investment trust. Mr. Mozilo was the 1991-1992
President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (MBA), which
represents more than 3,000 member firms involved in every aspect of
mortgage and real estate finance. In 1990, the MBA awarded him the title
of Certified Mortgage Banker, the industry's highest professional
designation. He currently serves on the MBA's Board of Directors.
Inducted into the National Association of Home Builders' (NAHB) Hall of
Fame in 1995, Mr. Mozilo currently serves on its National Housing
Endowment Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the NAHB. Other
activities include serving on the boards of the National Italian
American Foundation, Verdugo Hills Hospital, the National Building
Museum Society, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, as well as the
Board of Trustees at Fordham University and Gonzaga University in
Spokane, WA, where he established an annual scholarship in his name. Mr.
Mozilo received a bachelor of science degree in marketing and philosophy
form Fordham University in 1960, and holds an honorary doctor of laws
