AMRIT K. DAS is the Chairman, CEO and Founder of NetGuru, Inc. Following
high school, he entered Bengal Engineering College, a prestigious
engineering school in Eastern India, from which he graduated in 1966
with honors in Civil Engineering. He specialized in computer
applications in engineering and earned his Masters Degree with
distinction from the University of South Carolina in 1967. Following
school, Mr. Das served as a Practicing Engineer for a number of reputed
engineering firms. Armed with his experiences, he set out to translate
his ideas into reality and created the first version of STAAD-III, now
the world's leading general-purpose structural engineering software.
Research Engineers, Inc., founded in 1978 by Mr. Das, develops and
markets STAAD-III and has expanded its engineering software product
portfolio by acquiring industry-standard products like STARDYNE, ADLPIPE
and CIVILSOFT. Widely known and respected in the Information Technology
community worldwide, He is listed in the International Who's Who of
Global Business Leaders, Who's Who of Outstanding Americans and Who's
Who of Leading American Executives. The California Chamber of Commerce
recognized Mr. Das as their Man of the Year in 1996, in recognition of
