ALLAN L. SCHUMAN is President and CEO of Ecolab Inc. He joined the
company in 1957 as a Junior Salesman, and worked his way through the
ranks. Mr. Schuman was named President and Chief Operating Officer in
1992, and was named to his current position in 1995. He is a Board
member of Ecolab, Henkel-Ecolab GmbH, Culinary Institute of America
Corporation, Ordway Music Theatre, Hazeldon Foundation National Advisory
Council, Soap and Detergent Association, Guthrie Theater, Carlson School
of Management Board of Overseers and Capital City Partnership. Mr.
Schuman received a BS in Marketing and Management from New York
University and has participated in management seminars at Harvard,
