Zafiris Zafirelis

ZAFIRIS ZAFIRELIS has been the President and CEO of CardiacAssist, Inc.,
since its inception in 1996. He has over 32 years’ experience in the
healthcare and aerospace industries, including three startup companies.
Mr. Zafirelis’ career includes more than 15 years as Chief Executive
Officer with De Novo Technologies Cambridge, Massachusetts, Millipore,
South Africa, and Elviemek SA, Athens, Greece. In addition, Mr.
Zafirelis has held various senior executive positions in operations,
business development and marketing with Medical Science Partners,
Biopure Corporation and American Cyanamid. Mr. Zafirelis holds a
graduate Diploma in Chemistry from the University of Rhodesia and an MBA
from the University of Southern California.
