William G. Smith

WILLIAM G. SMITH, JR., is President and Chief Executive Officer of
Capital City Bank Group, Inc., and Chairman of the Board of Capital City
Bank where he has worked since 1978 in numerous capacities. Mr. Smith
attended Darlington School in Rome, Georgia, and graduated in 1972 with
the Faculty Medal for General Excellence. He received his Bachelor of
Science degree from The Florida State University in 1976. Mr. Smith is a
member of the Board of Directors of Capital City Bank Group, Inc.;
Capital City Bank; Southeast Community Hospital Board; Darlington
School; The Florida State University Foundation; The Florida State
University Athletic Board; The Florida Council of 100; Federal Reserve
Bank of Atlanta; City of Tallahassee Utility Commission, and is Chair of
the Tallahassee Area Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Council.
He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Jacksonville
Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and former Federal
Advisory Council representative for the Sixth District of the Federal
Reserve System, past President of the Florida Bankers Association, past
Chair of Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Tallahassee Area Chamber of
Commerce, and The Florida State University Alumni Association.
