William F. Roach

WILLIAM F. ROACH has been the President and the Chief Operating Officer
of PCTEL, Inc. since August 1999. During that time he has successfully
executed an IPO for PCTEL while continuing to grow the company’s
business and market share. From January 1997 until joining PCTEL, Mr.
Roach served as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing for
Maxtor Corporation, a $2.4 billion developer, manufacturer and marketer
of information storage products for desktop computer systems. While with
Maxtor, Mr. Roach helped the company triple its revenue and unit
production, as well as execute a successful IPO. From November 1996 to
January 1997 he served as Executive Vice President for Worldwide
Marketing for Wyle Electronics, an electronic component distribution
company. From 1989 to November 1996, he served as Executive Vice
President, Worldwide Sales, for Quantum Corporation, a data storage
company. During that time the company grew to become the second largest
hard disk manufacturer in the world. Mr. Roach received a Bachelor of
Science in Industrial Economics from Purdue University.
