William E. Bindley

WILLIAM E. BINDLEY is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of
Bindley Western Industries, Inc., a Fortune 500 New York Stock Exchange
healthcare company that he founded in 1968. He is also Chairman of
Priority Healthcare Corporation, a $300 million alternate care and
biotech pharmacy provider that he founded in 1994 and which trades on
the NASDAQ national market system. Mr. Bindley received his BS degree
from Purdue University in January 1962. He completed the Wholesale
Management Program at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford
University in 1966 and received a Doctor of Management degree from
Purdue in May of 1997. He is a former member and the Past Chairman of
the Indiana Chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization. He has been a
Guest Lecturer at Purdue University and DePaul University and was
honored as a Scholl Scholar Lecturer in 1982 at Loyola University in
Chicago. In 1989, he served as a Distinguished Lecturer and part-time
member of the faculty at the School of Business at Georgetown
University. He is a Trustee and President of the US Ski Team Foundation
and Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee of The National
Governing Body for The US Ski Team. He is a member of the Board of
Directors of Shoe Carnival, Inc. and an Advisory Board Member at St.
Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He is also a former member of the
Board and the Executive Committee of the National Wholesale Druggist
Association and is the past Chairman of the Citizens’ Speedway Committee
for the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race. He is a former member of the Capital
Improvement Board of Managers for the City of Indianapolis, a Director
of the Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Association and a past
Director of the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Bindley, who also
serves as a member of the President’s Advisory Council at Purdue
University, is a Trustee of Marian College and a member of the Dean’s
Advisory Board of the Purdue School of Pharmacy. He is also a member of
the Dean’s Advisory Board at the Krannert Graduate School of Management,
which recognized him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1996. He is
a former owner of the Indiana Pacers Professional Basketball Team and
also served on the Board of Governors of the American Basketball
Association. In 1989, he received the Sagamore of the Wabash Award from
Indiana Governor Robert Orr for entrepreneurial leadership. In 1992, he
received the Master entrepreneur Award for the state of Indiana. He is
listed in Who’s Who in The World and Who’s Who in America. He is an avid
golfer and tennis player in addition to skiing competitively in the
Masters Competition. He is married.
