Walter R. Young

WALTER R. YOUNG was appointed President and Chief Executive
Officer of Champion Enterprises, Inc., in 1990, and was elected
Chairman of the Board in 1992. Mr. Young began his career with
B.F. Goodrich in 1968 when he quickly acquired a reputation as a
corporate turnaround specialist. He revitalized B.F. Goodrich’s
European tire operations, its North American retail chain and the
company’s various chemical operations. In 1983, he joined The
Budd Company to head its aftermarket division. And, in 1987 he
joined The Henley Group to lead the Wheelabrator Corporation. He
graduated from Muskingum College with a Bachelor of Arts degree
and from Pennsylvania State University with an MBA.
