W. Wyatt Starnes

W. WYATT STARNES is Founder, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Tripwire, Inc. He brings vision and more than 25 years
of well-honed tactical experience to Tripwire. He began his
career in 1973, working in technical positions for companies
including Data General Corporation, Monolithic Memories, Inc.,
Maruman Integrated Circuits and Megatest Corporation. At
Megatest, Mr. Starnes expanded his experience on the business
side and was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
He then served as President of Megatest Japan for two years in
Tokyo. Mr. Starnes moved to Oregon’s Silicon Forest in 1988 where
he worked for Technology Marketing Inc., served as the President
of Trisys, and then founded his own company, Eclipse Technologies
Inc. After four years at the helm of Eclipse, he sold his
interest and joined Infinite Pictures. Here he met Gene Kim, who
co-authored the original Tripwire data and network integrity
software. Mr. Starnes and Mr. Kim formed Tripwire in the spring
of 1997. Together they have enhanced and upgraded the original
Tripwire software to meet the security needs of today’s Internet-
driven IT infrastructures
