W. Reed Foster

W. REED FOSTER is a Williams College philosophy major who went astray,
graduating from Harvard Business School in the legendary Bordeaux
vintage year of 1961 (not to imply any connection). In the ensuing
decades he fashioned a varied career in the worlds of wine and real
estate. Mr. Foster co-founded the San Francisco Vintner’s Club, serving
as its President for six years and for another 15 was an officer of the
Draper & Esquin retail wine shop. With a partner, he operated a
commercial real estate office in San Francisco until the mid-1980s, is a
trustee and officer of Woods Edge School in Oakland (a city of wine
lovers), and now spends all of his waking hours (some contend there are
not many of them) helping run the winery.
