Victor Zaleschuk

VICTOR ZALESCHUK was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of
Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd. June 1, 1997. Prior to that, he held
the position of Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial
Officer since joining the company in 1986. Mr. Zaleschuk has significant
experience in both the petroleum industry and oil and gas finance. From
1982 to 1986, he spent four years as Vice President of Finance of Co-
Enerco. From 1976 to 1982, he was Vice President of Financial Planning
and Comptroller of Dome Petroleum Ltd. Prior to this, Mr. Zaleschuk held
senior financial positions with Siebens Oil and Gas Ltd. and Hudson’s
Bay Oil and Gas Company. He is a member of the Financial Executives
Institute, the Advisory Board to the 16th WPC Organizing Committee, the
Board of Governors of the Chartered Accountants’ Education Foundation
and the Calgary Petroleum Club. Mr. Zaleschuk is a Chartered Accountant
and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of
Saskatchewan.
