TOM KIRCHNER is one of the Founders and is President of Electronic
Systems Technology, Inc., a publicly held company that specializes in
the manufacturing and development of wireless modem products. The
company uses its research and development, manufacturing, and marketing
efforts to produce and market the ESTeem Wireless Modem product. After
serving in the United States Navy with Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron
One (VQ-1) during the Vietnam War, Mr. Kirchner attended the University
of Arizona and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Electrical Engineering. Early in his career he completed graduate
studies at Washington State University at the Tri-Cities Campus. Over
his professional career he has held engineering and management positions
with Boeing Aerospace Company, Westinghouse-Hanford Engineering
Development Laboratory, and AE International before starting ELST in
1982. Mr. Kirchner has been awarded two patents, five invention awards,
Research and Development 100 Award in 1988, Washington State Governor’s
Award in 1990 and Southeast Washington Small Business Person of the Year
in 1992.
