Steven R. Marks is a Managing Director in Fitch Ratings’ financial institutions group. His primary areas of expertise are real estate investment trusts and real estate operating companies. Mr. Marks was previously a Managing Director at Bear Stearns’ real estate investment banking group, where he worked for over eight years, primarily executing public equity, debt and preferred stock offerings, and mergers and acquisitions in the REIT sector. He began his career KPMG LLP, where he worked in the audit division focusing on real estate and financial institution clients. Mr. Marks earned a B.S. in accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business.
