Steven K. Case

Steven K. Case, P.H.D. received his Ph.D in physics from the University
of Michigan in 1976, and in 1978 was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to
study at the Applied Optics Institute in Erlangen, Germany. He is an
adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota, a fellow of the
Optical Society of America and a charter member of the Machine Vision
Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of SMEMA (Surface
Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association), a major electronics industry
trade group. Dr. Case holds nine patents for optical and laser devices.
He has authored more than 60 technical papers and has presented over 50
seminars in the United States and Europe. His publication and
conference work has focused on applications for laser-based sensors and
systems performing measurement and inspection tasks required in surface
mount circuit board production. Dr. Case is the Chairman of CyberOptics
Corporation which he founded in 1984. He led the company to position
number 60 in the Inc. list of the 100 fastest growing companies in the
USA, and was regional finalist for the Price Waterhouse Entrepreneur of
the Year award in 1991. CyberOptics Corp. has been publicly held since
1987, trading on the NASDAQ under the symbol CYBE. The company has
grown to 190 employees with estimated 1997 revenues of $35 million and a
compound average growth rate of 30% for revenue over the past 5 years.
Today, CyberOptics is internationally recognized as the technology
leader in the design and manufacture of laser sensors and systems for
high precision, non-contact dimensional measurement.
