Steve Hanson

STEVE HANSON, President and CEO of ON Semiconductor, directs the day-to-
day operations of the worldwide organization. Before assuming his role
as President, Mr. Hanson was the Senior Vice President and General
Manager of the Semiconductor Components Group for the Motorola
Semiconductor Products Sector (SPS), a position he had held since June
1997. Prior to that, he was the General Manager of the SPS European
Semiconductor Group. Mr. Hanson originally joined Motorola in 1971 as a
Senior Manager for Process Engineering in the former Integrated Circuits
Division. In 1979, he led the construction, staffing and operation of
the Bipolar III fabrication facility in Mesa, Arizona. He moved to East
Kilbride, Scotland in 1982, where he was Wafer Operations Manager for
two years at the MOS 1 and MOS 4 facilities. During this time, he also
managed the construction and opening of the MOS 9 wafer fab in East
Kilbride. After returning to the US in 1984, Mr. Hanson became Manager
of Business Services Operations for Motorola’s Logic Division, and in
1986, he advanced as Operations Manager for High-Speed Emitter-Coupled
Logic (ECL) Products. Two years later, he was promoted to Vice President
and General Manager of the Bipolar Analog Division and was appointed a
Corporate Vice President. In 1991, he assumed the role of Corporate Vice
President and General Manager of the RF Products Division, a position he
held before moving overseas to head SPS European Semiconductor Group.
Mr. Hanson earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from
Arizona State University.
