Stephen Thompson

STEPHEN THOMPSON has served as President and Chief Executive Officer and
a Director of Immtech International, Inc., since 1991. Mr. Thompson
holds a BS from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Harvard
University. He joined Immtech International in April 1991 from Amersham
Corporation, where he was President and Chief Executive Officer,
responsible for Amersham’s Life Science, Radiopharmaceutical,
Diagnostic, and Quality and Safety Products Divisions. He was a member
of the Executive Committee of the company and reported to the Chairman
of Amersham International. During his tenure, the company purchased
several companies (including Medi-Physics from Roche) and divested the
diagnostic business to Kodak, giving the company greater focus in life
science and radio pharmaceuticals. Mr. Thompson was employed by Amersham
from 1985 to 1991. Mr. Thompson has 20 years’ experience in health care
with previous positions as General Manager of the Hepatitis and
Infectious Disease Business Unit, (largest business in Diagnostic
Division with 35% annual sale growth rate) and Immunology Business Unit
in the Diagnostic Division of Abbott Laboratories, Inc., from 1981 to
1985, Group Marketing Manager for the Hyland Division of Baxter
International Inc. from 1978 to 1981. Mr. Thompson is a Director of
Matritech, Inc.
