Shimon Eckhouse

SHIMON ECKHOUSE is a co-founder of ESC Medical Systems and has been its
Chief Executive Officer and a Director since the Company’s inception and
Chairman of the Board of Directors since September 1996. From 1971 to
1986, Dr. Eckhouse served in the Israeli Ministry of Defense Armament
Development Authority (‘Rafael’). In his last position, Dr. Eckhouse
managed a research department of 160 scientists and engineers. From 1986
to 1991, Dr. Eckhouse was the manager of the advanced product
development department at Maxwell Laboratories Inc. in San Diego,
California. Dr. Eckhouse received a B.Sc. degree in physics from the
Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (‘Technion’) and a doctorate in
physics from the University of California at Irvine.
