Scott J. Hammack

SCOTT J. HAMMACK, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
CyberGuard Corporation, joined the company in January 2001. Mr.
Hammack combines a background in engineering and computers with
executive management expertise. He started a small consulting
company called MasterChart in the basement of his Illinois home
in 1992. MasterChart developed an electronic medical record
product, attracted capital, added other software application
products and, in May 2000, was sold to Allscripts, Inc., for $125
million. Under Mr. Hammack’s direction, MasterChart developed an
innovative PDA technology enabling physicians to record medical
information at the patient bedside, saving time and improving
patient care. Before founding MasterChart, Mr. Hammack worked as
a Senior Engineer at Baxter Healthcare in Round Lake, Illinois,
where he developed software for the first handheld computer
called Linus. Mr. Hammack earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Computer Applications from
Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
