Robert L. G. Watson

ROBERT L. G. WATSON, President and Chief Executive Officer of Abraxas
Petroleum Corporation, received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical
Engineering degree from Southern Methodist University (1972) and a
Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at
San Antonio (1974). In 1977 Mr. Watson formed Abraxas Petroleum
Corporation, a San Antonio-based producer of oil and natural gas.
Previously, Mr. Watson was associated with the petroleum-consulting firm
of DeGolyer and MacNaughton and for six years was associated with Tesoro
Petroleum Corporation in various engineering, operations, administrative
and management positions.
