Robert J. McGovern

ROBERT J. MCGOVERN is Founder, President and CEO of CareerBuilder, Inc.,
a Reston, Virginia-based developer of Internet recruiting solutions,
including the largest network of career sites on the Web, the
CareerBuilder Network. Mr. McGovern has grown CareerBuilder into a 120-
person Internet company that has forged relationships with brand-name
media companies such as USA Today Online, CNET, Business Week, and NBC
to form the CareerBuilder Network. Mr. McGovern is an Internet industry
pioneer with a total of 15 years in high technology. Through executive
management positions at Legent Corp. and Hewlett-Packard, Mr. McGovern
managed hundreds of employees and played a key role in building
recruiting teams to attract the talent necessary for the success of the
organization. While at Legent, he served as Vice President and General
Manager of a $160-million division of the company. Prior to Legent, Mr.
McGovern spent 10 years with Hewlett-Packard and set company records for
sales performance and new territory development. An expert in Internet
recruiting, Mr. McGovern has spoken at Red Herring’s Venture Market West
Conference, Comdex, HRMS, Human Resources Technology and Society for
Human Resources Management. He also received the New Business Enterprise
Award from the Entrepreneurship Institute.
