Richard Shea

RICHARD SHEA is President and Chief Executive Officer of Spiration, Inc.
He joined Spiration in early 2000, bringing more than 25 years of
medical device development experience to his role. As President and CEO
of Spiration, Mr. Shea oversees all corporate planning and strategic
direction to ensure continued value for the company’s employees,
customers and investors. Prior to joining Spiration, Mr. Shea was
President and CEO of Metrika Inc., a medical device company that
developed, manufactured and marketed a proprietary hand-held device for
monitoring patients with chronic diseases. Before joining Metrika in
1998, Mr. Shea served as President of Stericycle of Washington, Inc.,
and Vice President of the western region, where he was responsible for
profit and loss of operations, sales, marketing, government relations,
regulatory compliance, national accounts, logistics, customer service
and production. Mr. Shea also served as Vice President, Sales and
Marketing, at Microprobe Corporation following an eight-year tenure with
Abbott Laboratories, Inc., where he worked in a variety of positions
including district sales manager, marketing manager of US operations,
manager of commercial operations-Far East, and general manager-Far East.
Mr. Shea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Nichols College in
Dudley, Massachusetts.
