RICHARD HOLMES, 38, is Group Managing Director of Civilian Content Plc.
He joined in August 1999 and has been responsible for a fundamental
restructuring of its business, the acquisition of a key strategic
acquisition (The Film consortium, one of three Lottery backed film
franchises) and the production of eight feature films and two TV series
in 2000. He established Gruber Films in 1985 and is a successful
independent film producer of five feature films. He recently made the
films Shooting Fish (the third most successful British Film of 1997 in
the UK after the Full Monty and Bean) and Waking Ned (grossed $26
million in the US against a budget of $3 million). Both films are now
posting net profits. He recently completed shooting The Abduction Club
in Ireland for Pathe. Richard Holmes was a founder of The New Producer’s
Alliance and served a year as Co-Chairman. He recently finished a three-
year stint as Vice-Chairman for Film at Pact.
