Renato Zambonini

RENATO ZAMBONINI is President and CEO of Cognos Incorporated, the
world’s leading vendor of business intelligence tools, the high-growth
segment of the data warehousing market. Mr. Zambonini has a unique
perspective on the world of business software. Mr. Zambonini joined
Cognos in 1989 as Vice President of Research and Development. He was
promoted to Senior Vice President of R&D in 1990 and to President and
COO in January 1993. In September 1995, Mr. Zambonini was promoted to
President and CEO. Prior to his tenure with Cognos he was Vice President
of Tools Development at Cullinet Software, Inc. of Westwood,
Massachusetts; General Manager for Applied Development Corporation of
Toronto, Canada; Director of Management Information Systems for
Warrington Products, Inc., Toronto, Canada; Managing Director of Comtech
Group International, Cork, Ireland; and Chief Programmer for Honeywell
Information Systems in Newhouse, Scotland. Mr. Zambonini studied Pure
Science at the University of Glasgow in his native Scotland.
