Ralph Bartel

RALPH BARTEL has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Travelzoo
Inc. since 1998. He has 14 years’ professional experience in the media
industry. He grew the company from an investment of $50,000 into a
multi-million dollar, publicly traded online media company. Prior to
Travelzoo Inc., Mr. Bartel worked as Managing Assistant in the newspaper
division of Bertelsmann Media and as a news editor for ARD, the largest
TV station in Germany. He holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from
University of Eichstaett (Germany), a PhD in Communications from
University of Mainz (Germany) and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from
University of St. Gallen (Switzerland).
