Penny Herscher

PENNY HERSCHER is an Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing
Officer of Cadence Design Systems, Inc., reporting to Ray
Bingham, President and CEO. Her responsibilities include
marketing, strategy, the Cadence Design Foundry business, and
customer support. Ms. Herscher previously served as Chairman of
the Board and CEO of Simplex Solutions Inc., which Cadence
acquired in June 2002. She was the Simplex CEO from April 1996,
and served as the company’s President from May 1996 to July 2000.
In July 2000, Ms. Herscher was appointed Chairman of Simplex’s
Board of Directors. From June 1988 to April 1996, she held
several management positions at Synopsys, Inc., including work in
business development, Vice President of Marketing, and other
general management positions. She also serves on the Board of
Directors of the EDA Consortium. Ms. Herscher holds a BA in
Mathematics from Cambridge University in England.
