NICK GLOVER, President and Chief Executive Officer of Viventia Biotech
Inc. joined the company as Director, Corporate Development in September
2000. In January 2004, Dr. Glover was appointed President and Chief
Executive Officer. He earned an Honors BSc in Chemistry from the
University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, and was awarded the I.C.I. New
Science Prize. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Glover completed
an MSc at the University of British Columbia before transferring to
Simon Fraser University to complete his PhD in Chemistry. While at Simon
Fraser University, Dr. Glover was the recipient of numerous Graduate
Fellowships and received the President’s PhD Research Stipend. Dr.
Glover’s doctoral thesis was awarded the Dean’s Convocation Medal for
Graduate Studies, the university’s highest academic honor, and was
nominated for the NSERC Doctoral Prize. Dr. Glover’s research has been
published in many leading scientific journals, and he has presented at
several prestigious international scientific conferences. Dr. Glover’s
drug discovery experience includes the development of a novel class of
vanadium-based potential anti-diabetes drugs, now entering Phase II
clinical trials for the treatment of type 2 diabetes for the Vancouver
biotechnology company Kinetek Pharmaceuticals. In addition, Dr. Glover
has acted as a research consultant to the pharmaceutical company Merck
Frosst of Montreal, designing novel enzyme inhibitors as new drug leads
for a variety of indications, and has provided drug discovery
consultation to various biotechnology companies. Dr. Glover most
recently was with MDS Capital Corp. as Science and Technology
Analyst/Investment Consultant and with University Medical Discoveries
Inc. as an Investment Analyst. His responsibilities included sourcing,
negotiating and completing investments in the biotechnology sector, from
seed stage to mezzanine financing. He has served on the Board of
Directors for several biotechnology startup companies, and has provided
strategic management and business development support to numerous
investee companies.
