NELSON A. CARBONELL co-founded Cysive, Inc., in 1993, growing the
company from a basement start-up to the successful public company it is
today. As President and CEO of the company, Mr. Carbonell is responsible
for guiding business strategy and vision. He has over 15 years of
experience in enterprise software architecture and business systems
development, and a depth of technical understanding unmatched in the
industry. With Mr. Carbonell at the helm, Cysive built pioneering e-
commerce and other Internet solutions before the potential business
impact of the Internet was widely recognized. Mr. Carbonell paved the
way for Cysive’s success by creating a company culture focused on
fostering excellence in the company’s technical consulting staff and by
using the latest in Web-specific technology. A respected and much
sought-after expert in his field, Mr. Carbonell has shared his industry
knowledge as a speaker at dozens of conferences and seminars. Topics
have included strategic business implementations of information
technology and enabling e-commerce systems. He also serves as a key e-
business resource for the press and industry analysts. Mr. Carbonell
enjoys golf, has an interest in architecture and design, and speaks
fluent Spanish. He received a BS in Electrical Engineering from The
George Washington University.
