Nathan A. Chapman

NATHAN A. CHAPMAN, JR., is President and Chief Executive Officer of
Chapman Worldwide Financial Services. Mr. Chapman began his career at
the national accounting firm Peat Marwick Main and Company where he
worked on a number of challenging assignments which included the
auditing of major investment banking firms. Mr. Chapman later joined the
oldest investment banking firm in the country, Alex. Brown & Sons, Inc.
where he was responsible for both retail and institutional accounts. In
1996, he founded The Chapman Company, a full service investment banking
firm based in Baltimore, Maryland, with satellite offices in Alabama,
California, Colorado, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas. Mr.
Chapman took the firm’s parent company, Chapman Holdings, Inc., public
on February 24, 1998 (NASDAQ: CMAN), making it the first and only
publicly traded African-American controlled investment firm. In 1988,
Mr. Chapman founded Chapman Capital Management, Inc., a registered
investment advisory firm based in Baltimore, Maryland. He took the
firm’s parent company, Chapman Capital Management Holding, Inc. public
on August 14, 1998 (NASDAQ:CMGT), making it the first and only publicly
traded African-American controlled Registered Investment Advisor. The
University System of Maryland Office of the Board of Regents, elected
Mr. Chapman as Chairman on July 8, 1999, making him the youngest and the
first African-American to hold the position. He attended The University
of Maryland at Baltimore County, where he received his BA in Economics
and Political Science in 1978.
