Mike Tsai

MIKE TSAI, President and Chief Executive Officer of Axis Systems,
Inc., founded the company in 1997. Axis Systems offers high-
performance verification platforms for the hardware and software
development of complex electronic system and system-on-a-chip
designs. On a single platform and with one design database,
patented RCC technology provides software simulation, accelerated
simulation, system emulation and hardware/software co-
verification. Customers include the world’s leading network,
processor, graphics and multimedia companies. With six profitable
quarters, Axis is one of the fastest growing companies in the EDA
industry. Prior to founding Axis Systems, Mr. Tsai was CEO of
GWcom, a wireless communication company, from 1995 to 1996.
Previous to GWcom, he was CEO of ArcSys (now merged into
Synopsys) from 1991 through 1994. Prior to ArcSys in 1991, Mr.
Tsai held key management positions at Cadence Design Systems,
Silicon Compilers (merged into Mentor Graphics), and IBM Yorktown
Research Center. Currently, he is also Chairman of Salutron, a
medical instrument company, and General Partner of Acorn Venture.
Mr. Tsai received his PhD from the University of Illinois,
Urbana-Champaign.
