Michel Birnbaum

MICHEL BIRNBAUM is the Chief Executive Officer of e-capital investments.
Mr. Birnbaum has extensive experience in financing and advising early
stage technology companies and has substantial corporate and investor
relationships throughout Europe. He was recently the Director,
Investment Banking for Close Brothers and, before that, Senior Vice
President for Hambrecht & Quist Euromarkets. A large part of his life
was spent in the United States where he began his professional career at
General Electric participating in several high visibility military
projects. Mr. Birnbaum holds a degree in aerospace engineering from the
Polytechnic Institute of New York and an MBA from the London Business
School. He started his Wall Street career in 1986, becoming a Senior
Technology Market Maker at Fleet/Nash Weiss. Before returning to Europe
in May 1996, Mr. Birnbaum participated in the creation of the Nouveau
March working as a consultant from 1994-1996. He has also been involved
with EASDAQ and the Neuer Markt in their initial conception phase and is
a member of different committees on these high growth markets. He
returned to Europe in May 1996 to help in the development of Hambrecht &
Quist’s European joint venture. Mr. Birnbaum is a member of the board of
two Internet companies and also maintains dual citizenship in France and
in the United States.
