Michael S. Karsner

Over the last two decades, MICHAEL S. KARSNER has made a big impact
behind the scenes at several well-known Fortune 500 companies ‘
AutoNation, Dole Food Company, The Black & Decker Corporation and
Citicorp, among others. Now, as President and Chief Executive Officer at
ANC Rental Corporation since November 1999, he sits in the driver’s seat
for the first time. Mr. Karsner previously served as Senior Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer for AutoNation, Inc., formerly
Republic Industries, for three years. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Karsner
served in a similar capacity as Senior Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer at Dole Food Company, the world’s largest producer and
marketer of high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as an
internationally recognized marketer of packaged foods. Before 1994, he
honed his financial, marketing and operating skills in management
positions with The Black & Decker Corporation, Citicorp and United
Parcel Service. Mr. Karsner holds a Master of Science degree in Finance
from Loyola College in Towson, Maryland, a Bachelor of Science degree in
Accounting and an MBA degree in Marketing from the University of
Baltimore.
