Michael Ciesinski

MICHAEL CIESINSKI was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of
the U.S. Display Consortium (USDC) in April 1995. The USDC is a
private/public partnership chartered with helping to build the
infrastructure for electronic display manufacturing. The USDC annually
sponsors a multi-million dollar technology development program, as well
as industry technical and financial conferences and other industry
services. From 1991-1995, Mr. Ciesinski was Vice President and Director
of North American Operations for Semiconductor Equipment and Materials
International (SEMI), a worldwide trade association serving the capital
equipment and materials industry. At SEMI, he managed the Information
and Communications Group, which included market data, on-line market
reports, electronic communications, education and training, and public
relations. He also directed SEMI’s North American Operations, which
included several regional offices, a variety of industry programs, and
all flat panel display activity. From mid-1998 through mid-1990,
Mr.Ciesinski directed worldwide marketing and communications activities
for SEMI. In 1984, he opened SEMI’s Washington, DC, office and managed
its government relations program until May 1988. He joined SEMI in 1982
in the Standards and Technology department. In 1981, he was appointed to
the New York State Labor-Management Committee, where he coordinated
executive management activity for a labor and management advisory group.
He developed the initial business plan that focused on employee
productivity and work quality projects. From 1976 to 1981, Mr. Ciesinski
managed research activity and field operations for the New York State
Legislature, with emphasis on local government and economic development
activity. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at
Albany. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive
Committee of the United States Display Consortium.
