Mark L. Lemond

MARK L. LEMOND was named Chief Executive Officer and President of Shoe
Carnival in September 1996. Prior to September 1996, Mr. Lemond held
the position Chief Operating Officer (February 1994), Executive Vice
President, Chief Financial Officer, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer
since March 1988. Mr. Lemond, a Certified Public Accountant, graduated
from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Business.
