Marc D. Beer

MARC D. BEER joined ViaCell as Chief Executive Officer in April 2000.
Prior to ViaCell, he was a Senior Manager at Genzyme for four years,
most recently serving in the role of Vice President, Global Marketing
for Genzyme Therapeutics. Previously, Mr. Beer was Vice President of
Sales and Marketing for Biostar, now a subsidiary of Thermo Electron
Corporation. Mr. Beer started his career with Abbott Laboratories, where
he held several sales and marketing management positions. Mr. Beer has
more than 15 years’ experience in P&L management, sales and marketing
management, and R&D program management in therapeutic, surgical and in
vitro diagnostic systems businesses. Mr. Beer has a BS in Business and
Chemistry from Miami University.
