Maggie Wilderotter

MAGGIE WILDEROTTER is President and Chief Executive Officer of Wink
Communications, Inc., a California-based t-commerce company. In her role
as President and CEO, Ms. Wilderotter leads a diverse and talented team
in developing and delivering this cutting-edge technology for a rapidly
increasing number of television households. Before joining Wink, she was
the Executive Vice President of National Operations for AT&T Wireless
Services, Inc., and Chief Executive Officer of AT&T’s Aviation
Communications Division. Ms. Wilderotter also served as Senior Vice
President of McCaw Cellular Communications, Inc. and Regional President
of its California, Nevada and Hawaii region. The cable industry is
familiar terrain for Ms. Wilderotter, who spent 12 years with U.S
Computer Services, Inc./Cable Data, as Senior Vice President and General
Manager. During this time, she is credited with providing this
engineering- and technology-oriented company with a keen customer-driven
focus. The National Cable Television Association (NCTA) honored her
outstanding work in the industry this year by awarding her the coveted
Vanguard Award for Distinguished Leadership. The NCTA recognized her as
well in 1989, with its award for Associates, recognizing the
indispensable contributions of both equipment manufacturers and service
suppliers to the cable industry. This makes Ms. Wilderotter one of only
20 people to have ever received two Vanguard Awards since their
inception in 1965. In 1999 she was awarded the first ever Outstanding
Mentor Award by the Women in Cable and Telecommunications Foundation.
She also received the Top 10 Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT)
Award in 1989 for her support of the association and advocacy of women
in the cable industry. As an active member of the community, Ms.
Widerotter is co-Education Chair of the Young Presidents’ Organization,
Barbary Coast Chapter and serves on the Board of the Kaitz Foundation
which promotes diversity in the Cable and Telecommunications industry,
as well as being an Honorary Chair of Cable Positive which works to
raise money and awareness for the issues of people living with HIV and
AIDS. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the following public
companies and associations: Wink Communications; Airborne Express;
American Tower Corporation; Electric Lightwave, Inc.; Gaylord
Entertainment; Holy Cross College; Cable Television Association of
Marketers; California Cable Television Association; California Chamber
of Commerce; Women In Cable Foundation; and the Dean’s Advisory Board at
U.C. Davis. Ms. Wilderotter earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and
Business Administration from Holy Cross College where she is also a
Trustee.
