Juergen Engel

JUERGEN ENGEL was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Aeterna
Zentaris Inc. on Sept. 1, 2008, after having served as Executive Vice President
and Chief Scientific Officer. He became a Director on the company’s Board in
2003 and since 2001 had served as Managing Director of AEZS Germany, the
corporation’s principal subsidiary. Before then, he was head of research and
development at ASTA Medica AG.
