Jorgen Buus Lassen

JORGEN BUUS LASSEN (65), DVM, is co-founder of the Company and has been
President and CEO of Neurosearch since May 1989. Dr. Lassen has more
than 30 years’ experience within neuropharmacology and has authored or
co-authored more than 30 publications including the first paper
published with respect to Paxil’ (paroxctine), an antidepressant. From
1980 to 1988, Dr. Lassen served as Managing Director of Ferrosan’s
research and development division. In this period, Dr. Lassen was
responsible for the expansion of all pre-clinical and clinical
activities requested by health regulatory agencies. The most advanced of
the development substances studied was the antidepressant Paxil’ being
marketed world-wide by SmithKline Beecham. In the same period, Dr.
Lassen negotiated and concluded seven major research and development
alliances. Prior to that, Dr. Lassen held a number of positions at
Ferrosan and for several years served as Director of Pharmacology. Dr.
Lassen serves as Chairman of the Board of Zealand Pharmaceuticals A/S
and is a member of the boards of M&E Biotech A/S, Bavarian Nordic
Research Institute A/S, NicOX and Scanbur A/S. Dr. Lassen received his
DVM from the Royal School of Veterinary and Agriculture Science in
Copenhagen.
