John W. McConnell

JOHN W. MCCONNELL is President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of
the Board of Directors of Fairfield Communities, Inc. headquartered in
Little Rock, Arkansas. Previously, Mr. McConnell was associated with
Diamond Shamrock Corporation in various positions including Executive
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is Treasurer and a
member of the Board of Directors for the American Resort Development
Association from which in 1995 he received the ‘Industry Leader of the
Year’ award at the Spring Convention. He is also a member of the Board
of Directors for the Arkansas Arts Center and a member of the Pleasant
Valley Country Club. Mr. McConnell served in the United States Army
from 1962 to1964 and then received his Bachelor’s degree from the
University of Steubenville in Ohio. Mr. McConnell is married and has
five children and two grandchildren. He includes golf and reading among
his personal interests.
