John H. Shaughnessy

JOHN H. SHAUGHNESSY is currently Senior Managing Director of Boston
Advisors, Inc., a wholly owned affiliate of Advest, Inc., and is also
Advest’s Chief Investment Strategist. Mr. Shaughnessy has been involved
in the Securities Industry for almost 40 years, during which time he has
functioned as Security Analyst, Director of Research, Manager of
institutional sales, and Investment Strategist. During his days as a
Security Analyst, he was a well-known and widely respected Oil Analyst
and is a past President of the Oil Analysts Group of New York. He is
currently a member of several important industry organizations including
the New York Society of Security Analysts. He also writes a weekly
commentary on the stock market entitled Weekly Market Perspective, for
Advest’s clients and investment executives. Mr. Shaughnessy holds a BS
degree in Economics from Boston University and an MBA degree from Boston
College. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Advest.
