Jackson W. Robinson

JACKSON W. ROBINSON is Manager and Managing Director of Winslow
Management Company. He grew up in the home that served as the model for
The Have More Plan, a back-to-the-land book written by his parents that
is in its 22nd printing. The lessons he learned about gardening,
recycling, alternative energy and farming still serve him today. After
graduating from Brown University, Mr. Robinson worked in banking,
brokerage and money management positions in Boston, gaining experience
in fundamental research, quantitative techniques and technical analysis.
He left the money management business in 1979 to serve as an officer and
Director of Garden Way, Inc., and as President of the National Gardening
Association. Garden Way’s use of recycling, closed-loop processes,
energy conservation and alternative energy kept operating costs to a
minimum, providing significant savings. Based on his experience, he
became convinced that environmental responsibility enhances corporate
profitability. Mr. Robinson further developed his ideas about
environmentally effective investing while managing a small, non-profit
401(k) plan on a pro bono basis for six years. Focusing investments on
environmentally sound companies, he consistently outperformed the plan’s
benchmark. He founded Winslow Management Company as an environmentally
effective investing firm in 1984. He serves on the Boards of the Jupiter
Global Green Investment Trust Plc (LSE), the Jupiter European
Opportunities Trust Plc (LSE), and Spartech (NYSE). In addition to being
a trustee of Suffield Academy, Mr. Jackson sits on the Advisory Board of
the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACRE).
