Garry K. McGuire

GARRY K. MCGUIRE SR. is Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice
President of Operations at Avaya Inc. He is responsible for oversight of
all financial operations within Avaya as well as information technology,
business services, e-business, global customer care centers, public
relations and investor relations. Before joining Avaya, Mr. McGuire was
President and Chief Executive Officer of Williams Communications
Solutions LLC. Mr. McGuire began his career in 1969 with Detroit Bank &
Trust Company. He joined Northern Telecom Finance Corporation in 1983 as
Director of Operations and Administration, and served as Vice President,
Marketing, before becoming Vice President, Strategic Planning, at
Northern Telecom Inc. in 1991. Mr. McGuire subsequently served in
several senior management positions and grew NORTEL’s market presence in
the PBX and key systems business as President of joint ventures with
three major regional telephone operating companies: Bell Atlantic, Nynex
and Pacific Telesis. In 1995, Mr. McGuire was appointed President of
NORTEL Communications Systems Inc. Mr. McGuire received a Bachelor of
Science degree in Economics from the University of Dayton School of
Business, and attended the Strategic Planning Executive Education
Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
He also served as an officer in the United States Air Force. He is a
member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Dayton.
