Fred Lampropoulos

FRED LAMPROPOULOS is President and Chief Executive Officer of
Merit Medical Systems, Inc. He has been in the medical device
business over 20 years. He is the co-inventor on more than 100
patents of devices used in the diagnostic and therapeutic
treatment of cardiovascular disease. In June 1987, Mr.
Lampropoulos formed Merit Medical Systems, Inc., whose products
specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and
radiological diseases. The company has expanded from a small
manufacturing facility in Salt Lake to two separate local
facilities totaling over 230,000 square feet. It also has
developed separate manufacturing facilities in Santa Clara,
California; Angleton, Texas; and Galway, Ireland. These
manufacturing facilities enable Merit to provide quality
subcomponents for its products and better distribution to foreign
accounts. The company has achieved a world leadership position in
most of the markets in which it participates and is renowned for
its product innovation, customer service and product quality. Mr.
Lampropoulos serves on the Boards of the Utah Foundation and the
Tuacahn Center for the Arts, and is a member of the Tuacahn High
School Board of Trustees. Mr. Lampropoulos is the recipient of
many awards, including the 1993 Intermountain Entrepreneur of the
Year sponsored by Inc. magazine and Ernst & Young; and 2002
Father of the Year for the State of Utah, sponsored by the
American Diabetes Association. Merit Medical also has been
selected in 2001 and 2002 to the Forbes magazine list of the 200
Best Small Companies in America.
