Emanuel Hhener

Emanuel Hhener studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (Switzerland) and received his MSc in 1973. His professional education was broadened between 1976 and 1994 by further studies at the Imperial College in London, at the IMD (IMEDE) in Lausanne and at Krauthammer International. Mr. Hheners professional experience includes a period at Saurer Engineering, Switzerland as a Manager responsible for basic engineering engines. He worked for many years with Sulzer Brothers Ltd. where he was Managing Director of the Scandinavian subsidiary in Norway from 1984 to 1991. He then left for Hong Kong and Shanghai where he served as Chairman and Managing Director of New Sulzer Diesel Hong Kong Ltd. Later, Mr. Hhener took over the Management of the Marine Division, located in both Winterthur (Switzerland) and Hong Kong, and he was appointed a Member of the Executive Management. From 1996 to 2000, he was President and CEO at Georg Fischer Disa Holding Ltd., Switzerland. He was subsequently appointed General Manager of Georg Fischer Management AG in April 2000 where he was responsible for strategic group projects. Since autumn 2000, Mr. Hhener has been CEO of the Swiss electricity company Elektrizitts-Gesellschaft Laufenburg AG. And since March 2003, he has been a Member of the Executive Management of Axpo Holding AG.
