Elisabeth Robert

ELISABETH ROBERT was appointed President and Chief Bear Officer of The
Vermont Teddy Bear Company in 1997, after serving two years as its CFO.
Under Ms. Robert’s leadership, The Vermont Teddy Bear Company has grown
to about $40 million in annual revenues. Ms. Robert’s achievements have
not gone unnoticed. She received the 2003 Vermont Small Business
Administration Person of the Year award. She was a New England finalist
in the 1999 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Program. In 2001, the
Honorable Senator Leahy recorded a tribute to Ms. Robert in the
Congressional Record. She is the Chair of the New England Advisory
Council to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, a member of the Vermont
Business Roundtable, a member of the Board of Advisors for the UVM
School of Business Administration and a recently appointed trustee of
Fletcher Allen Health Care. Prior to joining The Vermont Teddy Bear
Company, Ms. Robert was a founding partner of Airmouse Remote Controls,
in Williston, Vermont, Campaign Manager for the McCarren Lieutenant
Governor campaign, and a junior executive of Vermont Gas Systems. She
began her career as a loan officer trainee at First National Bank of
Boston. Born in New York City and raised in Alpine, New Jersey, Ms.
Robert earned her Bachelor’s degree magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa
from Middlebury College in 1978 and her Master’s degree in Business
Administration from The University of Vermont in 1984. She lives in
Charlotte with her two daughters, Catie and Ruthie.
