Eileen Smith Ewing, Esq, is a Partner and Chair of the Life
Sciences group at the national law firm of Kirkpatrick & Lockhart
LLP, resident in its Boston office. She represents her
pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in complex transactions,
including intellectual property licensing and technology
transfers, domestic and transnational mergers, acquisitions,
joint ventures and other strategic corporate alliances. Ms.
Ewing has a particular interest in Pacific Rim legal
transactions. She graduated from Harvard University (where she
was a Radcliffe National Scholar) with a bachelor’s degree in
East Asian Studies summa cum laude. She received the JD degree
from Columbia University Law School, as well as graduate degrees
in Japanese Intellectual History from Columbia. Ms. Ewing writes
and speaks frequently on business and legal topics of interest to
the life sciences industries.
