Edmund Bruegger

EDMUND BRUEGGER is Chief Executive Officer of European Telecom plc. He
trained as a barrister before starting a career in merchant banking,
during which time he was a director of Singer and Friedlander for some
six years. He advised major companies such as ITT and McDonalds on
Eurobond debt issues, helped a large number of smaller companies float
on the London Stock Exchange and was adviser on many mergers,
acquisitions and disposals throughout the world. In 1996, he joined
Spandex plc, a multinational distributor of computers and consumables to
the sign industry, as managing director. In 1998 after completing three
further acquisitions Spandex was sold to its major U.S. supplier for a
sum of 109 million British Pounds. He has been on the board of European
Telecom since its flotation in 1996 and became Chief Executive Officer
in November 1998. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Universal
Salvage plc.
